Morning:
DIRT EVERYWHERE (it might have something to do with the high winds and no rain fly combo).
My tent is almost 6 feet lower than where I set it up (gravity strikes again!).
Another tent pole broke (I assume during the slide down the hill).
Afternoon:
Uphill and hot all day, but the three water caches saved me.
Evening:
FIRST CAMPFIRE
Awesome campfire hangout with Wild Bill, Party Boy, Jon, and Dusty.
17 miles today.

That sliding tent business is aggravating as heck! Janet and I could not find a level spot one night while on the Appalachian Trail. First, we would slide down, in our bags, to the bottom of the tent, all in a heap. Then, the tent would slide, also. It was a miserable night.

I love eating chocolate zucchini brownies with my sheep’s milk latte, and reading about your race to restock on food and water.

Yum! I definitely have a new appreciation for the ease of access to food at home, hopefully those reading this feel that way too 🙂
